Protecting citizens of the Commonwealth by investigating and Prosecuting Medicaid providers that commit health care fraud. In 2020, the Medicaid Fraud Division recovered over 32 million dollars in civil and criminal penalties. This fraud was perpetrated by providers such as doctors, transportation companies, labs, home healthcare workers and nursing homes. MFD also investigates and prosecutes physical or financial abuse committed against any Medicaid member by a health care provider, in a nursing home, health care, home health, or community based setting.
