- $2,500 at issuance of conditional offer.
- $2,500 at start of training
- $2,500 at completion of field training.
- Potential for carryover of accrued sick time from transferring agency.
- Potential for use of years of service from transferring agency towards the accrual of vacation time.
- Matching base pay – Will match current base pay up to contractual pay of a top step patrol officer.
Requirements for Lateral Transfer
- Must be currently employed as a sworn officer.
- Have a fulltime Certified Academy Certificate (Bridge Academy NOT accepted)
- U.S. Citizen at time of hire.
- Have a valid Massachusetts driver license at time of hire.
- Ability to acquire a Massachusetts License to Carry a Firearm.
- Must not have any prior felony convictions.
- Cannot smoke Tobacco products.
- Must be able to pass a Physical exam and Psychological testing.

- Attend an Intake Interview.
- Extensive background investigation conducted.
- Panel Interview.
- Qualified Candidates will receive a conditional offer of employment.
- Following a conditional offer of employment, the candidate will be expected to take and pass a medical exam, psychological exam, and a Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
