Barnstable Police Department Hosting Kids Day at Barnstable High School Tomorrow
BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable Police Department along with the five Town of Barnstable Fire Departments will be hosting the 27th Annual Kids Day.
The event will take place on Aug. 14 at Barnstable High School from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It is completely free to attend and food including hot dogs, soda and ice cream will be provided.
A parade of emergency vehicles, a bagpipe performance and the kids police academy will commence the day’s events at 10 a.m. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to see K-9 and SWAT demonstrations, equipment and vehicles from several different police and fire departments. Additionally, they can participate in activities such as inflatable obstacle courses, corn hole, face painting and can even dunk a BPD officer in a dunk tank.
“I am really looking forward to this year’s Kids Day. It allows children and families to meet our first responders in a fun and family-friendly environment,” said Chief Challies. “It is truly an honor to watch this special event bring the community together each year.”
