Recruiter Scott Wright

 

Officer Wright has dedicated his career to law enforcement, serving the community with professionalism and commitment. A 1993 graduate of Barnstable High School, he began his journey in policing as a summer officer with the Barnstable Police Department from 1995 to 1998. In 1999, he joined the Harwich Police Department after completing the 37th M.P.O.C, Plymouth Police Academy.

Committed to higher education, he earned an Associate in Science in Criminal Justice from Cape Cod Community College and later obtained a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement from Western New England College. In 2002, he transferred to the Barnstable Police Department, where he has taken on numerous specialized roles throughout his tenure.

Some of his assignments have included the Mountain Bike Unit and Field Training Officer program, where he played a pivotal role in mentoring new officers. From 2012 to 2019, he was a member of the Street Crime Unit, tackling high-impact criminal activity. Since 2018, he has been assigned to the Personnel Selection Unit, conducting in-depth background investigations to ensure the highest standards in recruitment.

Beyond his operational roles, he has been actively involved in union leadership, advocating for his fellow officers. He previously served as Vice President of Local 395 and is currently the President, representing the interests of his colleagues in collective bargaining and labor relations.

With a career spanning over two decades, Officer Wright remains committed to serving and protecting his community while fostering the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
